I have a secret and I hate holding back secrets. I hate keeping things from friends. Especially important things, like love. I am in love…. with Malabrigo. Yes, blog readers, I am confessing my love to a skein of yarn by the name of Mr.Malabrigo. He refuses to tell me his first name, tells me I won’t love him enough and I’ll drop him at the first glance of another soft wool yarn. I found him at the local LYS (local yarn store for the knitting impaired), not fully ready to commit but just browsing around, just seeing what skeins caught my eye. And there he was. Just waiting for me…. and I’m glad I took the chance.

He is so soft. so beautiful and knits like a dream. I never want to go back to another yarn, but I musn’t be greedy with the Malabrigo. He will be saved for special occasions. He will be saved for when I want to knit a treat.

No… I won’t be greedy But tonight, I will stay up and cherish my time knitting with him. Because after this project, he will be stashed away… for another day.

These are projects to be completed. Will be crossed out when completed. Bold is currently working on.

You have to click on the “more” to see the projects. I don’t want this post taking up too much space.

In December 2008, Grandma made this for me:
knitting needle case

I had been knitting for about a month and I needed a case for my small amount of double-pointed and circular needles. The only requirements were that it was stylish and would hold the needles well. It turned out perfect. Throughout the past few months I’ve managed to accrue quite a collection of dpns and circular needles. The roll case was only big enough to either hold half my dpns and none of my circular needles or all of my circular needles and none of my dpns. I decided another needle roll case was a top priority. So I went through my mom’s huge tub of fabric and found 4 fabric designs I liked. I made a pattern, cut out the fabric and then following my mom’s instructions, managed to sew it up within a couple hours.

This is the end result:

So now I have a roll case for my circular needles and a roll case for my dpns. And I love it. The colors are so bright and cheerful that I can’t help but smile when I see it. And every time I look at it or think about it, I want to make more.

I can see this turning into a very healthy addiction.

I am a mother, photographer, knitter and sometimes I like to pretend I can sew.

This is the blog showcasing my crafty side. This is all me, with tons of inspiration from friends, family and other crafty people thrown in. I love looking at sewing and knitting projects I stumble across the web. I love seeing the end result of a knitting or a sewing project.

This blog will be the perfect inspiration to create fabulous projects.

NEW KNITTING BLOG!

I guess I should say that it’s a new craft/knitting/sew blog. I’ll still be posting my knitting extravaganzas on this blog, but it won’t be a main focus.

So check out my new blog and make sure you subscribe so you can stay up-to-date on my latest projects.

This will only be sticky for a week :)

I went a month with having a power cord for my laptop that worked only half the time. Then it completely died and I went a week with having to borrow my dad’s power cord. I finally got a new one in the mail and now I LOVE not having to worry about my laptop battery dying. It’s so nice. That also explains my lapse in blogging. That is my story and I’m sticking to it.

I had intended on blogging Friday night, but Comcast was having problems (what else is new?) and I didn’t have internet service. So I spent the night catching up on processing photos. and knitting. and reading. and listening to music. But those have turned into my normal nighttime before bed routine. Who says I need sleep??

Saturday I was feeling incredibly crafty. So I sifted through my mom’s huge tub of fabric and found some I liked. Then following her directions and pattern, I made a roll up double-pointed needle holder. And it looks fabulous!

I still have tons and tons of projects to complete, but I am so excited for what I have planned to do.

I’ve been having more computer problems. I got my laptop from my brother. Considering that it’s roughly 5 years old (correct me if I’m wrong), it has been good to me. I’ve had it maybe a year and a half. First I got a virus on it. Had to reformat. No biggie. Then windows messed up, had to reformat a second time. Lost the “a” key, no biggie, I could still use the key. Lost the “z” key, eeek, I couldn’t use the key. Then the “a” key stops working. So I bought a new keyboard and had to get a friend to install it. Now the ac adapter is dead. D-E-A-D. As dead as my battery is about to be. So I have a new ac adapter on order and hopefully I will get it by the end of the week. If not, I’ll be on the desktop. No biggie, except for the sad fact that I have TONS of photos I have to process. Not for me, but for a friend.

Look at that cutie. Who very willingly modeled my knitted hats. So the photos will be put on hold and I’m going to put the extra time to good use. Like blogging, and knitting. I have a list (in my head. It will be put to paper eventually) of projects I intend on making.

And I guess I should announce that both Kimberly and Jessica figured out which book I was reading in THIS post. Email me your addresses and I’ll let you know when your prize is in the mail :D

I’m off for now. To watch a movie, knit, read and just relax for the next couple hours before I hit the bed. It’s going to be weird to not be on the computer as much, but I think I’m going to enjoy it.

And since no post is complete without a picture of MY cutie….
dreams will be with you forever, no matter how hard you try to blow them away.

"the hat"

Someone texted me today. Out of the blue. Just like this certain someone did a couple weeks ago. It brought back a whole rush of feelings. And now at the end of the day, I’m left with the familiar strange unhappy sort of happy feeling.

I’ve got a lot to talk about, but that’s the last thing I want on my mind now. I need to blog about my weekend in Chattanooga while it’s still (somewhat) memorable in my mind. I’ve gotten a good majority of the pictures processed. I’ve been taking a lot of pictures lately, now I just need to find the time to process them. I’ve also been knitting up a storm, with project ideas filling my mind. I know what I want to knit, but then I have other project ideas I want to do. Necklaces, bracelets, stitch markers I want to make. I need to be able to make some money off this. To be able to support this addictive hobby.

Skyler is still cooperating with the potty training. He still has an accident every now and then, but he’s recognizing the signs of the feeling of having to go pee and poop. So I can tell that he’s trying, and that’s all I can ask at his age.

And now I have to end to short of blog post because my laptop is going to die soon. The battery is almost dead and my power cord refuses to connect. I just replaced the keyboard, so I knew something else would go wrong. -sigh-

Happy Easter to everyone! After a tantrum filled Friday, a long and crazy Saturday, I knew I had to have a lazy Sunday. And that is exactly as we have done.

Skyler woke up around 7:45 but read books in bed until 8:30. I was grateful for that because I didn’t fall asleep until almost 2:45am, so I managed about 5 hours of sleep. We went downstairs and he saw his basket of goodies. “Presents for me!”, he kept exclaiming. The spiderman was his favorite, of course, but he was excited with everything. It doesn’t even occur to him that I’m denying him of candy ;)

The rest of the day has been lazy, playing, watching movies and I’ve spent time knitting. We got some time outside in the warm weather. Now he’s watching Bolt and playing with his spiderman while I plan on getting some more knitting done. Great day overall. Too bad tomorrow is back to work :/

Skyler’s daycare is closed today seeing how it’s Good Friday, so I switched my schedule to work Saturday instead. So we spent the day being lazy, shopping and coloring eggs. And it has been nice. I love mornings where he sleeps in and I get to read or watch a movie and just enjoy the peace and quiet. I love snuggling with him after he wakes up and reading books. And most of all, I love being able to sit and relax and knit. Or knit and read. Just as long as I relax.

And I’m going to run a little contest. The first person to name the book I’m currently reading (in the photo), I’m going to use every ounce of my creativity and make them a little something :D. If several people name the correct book, I’ll choose the winner randomly.
You don’t have to give the author, just the title. and be specific

lazy friday
