I’ve been meaning to blog for the past several days. Each day I will have something new I want to share. Each day I will have rants and raves. And each day passes and no blog post. Then finally when I do get a chance to blog, all I have to share is this….

I’ve started a new project and it’s turning out fabulous. Pattern is a no-brainer, yarn is knitting up beautifully and it’s going to be a wonderful summer knit. I can’t wait till it’s complete.

Any idea of what is will be???

do you know what this is going to be???

do you know what this is going to be???

do you know what this is going to be???

No?? Guess you will just have to wait and see….

PS… Notice how I’m on a blogging roll? Enjoy it while it lasts ;)

I was dreading working tonight. Or I guess last night. I was dreading working overnight for inventory. Poor planning, poor prepping, poor organization, everything going on was telling me that it was going to be a nightmare.
Luckily, the night turned out to be nothing like I was fearing. Several of my friends (ok, I get along amazingly well with the whole crew that worked) worked so we were able to joke around and have fun while we audited the aisles and answered sku check questions. And I wonder if I can even consider what were doing to be work??
Breaks and lunches was non-stop laughter with it continuing out on the floor. It made me happy to realize what great friends I have. It made me sad to realize how empty and lonely I would feel when I got home….

I’ve done horrible keeping up with both my knitting blog and this blog. So I’m putting the two together.

In a previous post I mentioned a Twin Leaf Scarf that I’m currently working on.
Check out the pre-blocked lace work

and the deep maroon color. It’s exquisite

And of course the finished Grumpasaurus a friend special ordered. I love the face.

Now I’m off to work on the Twin Leaf scarf. Or… work on a hair kerchief if I can find a pattern I like. I know the perfect yarn for it.

Saturday July 18, 2009 – Guess where I will be….
The Big Stitch 3 where there will be lots of knitters and crocheters who are creating hats and blankets to be donated to hospitals.

I’m excited also because of the fact that there will be yarn for sale for $1 a skein. I know it’s not going to be the super fabulous skeins of yarn that normally run around $15-$20, but I might just pick up a gem. It wouldn’t be worth it not to go.

And…. I’m going to try to knit up some newborn hats to donate. It’s for a good cause and the hat Skyler got in the hospital was just horrid. Babies deserve cute hats :P

I want to knit this : Monster Chunks!

Unfortunately it has to wait until I finish my Marisol Mouse and my Twin Leaf (un)beaded scarf. Really can’t wait till I actually buy the yarn to make a second of that scarf. I’m currently using a Bernat Satin Sport Acrylic yarn without beads, simply because I wanted to try out the pattern. And I’ve fallen in love. So to my readers out there, especially my knitting/crocheting readers; I’m looking for a skein of sport or sock yarn wool/mohair (or angora) blend yarn to make another scarf. I want light colors. Solid will do, but a pretty colorway will be perfect. So if anybody is ever browsing on Etsy specifically for me ;) and you happen to run across something you think will fit the bill for the scarf, please let me know. I need at least 150 yards for one scarf, but if there is enough in the skein for a second scarf, I’ll knit one for whomever finds the yarn :D

And I have just managed to get away from the whole point of my blog post…..

I’m currently in my bi-monthly(monthly, whenever I feel like it) funk. I think I know the reason behind it, so it’ll be bypass soon enough. I’m still trying to focus on getting into school, Skyler, my knitting, work and a better job and hopefully that will break me of the funk-ness feeling soon enough.
Monday night is inventory at work and they decided I would be a good candidate to join in the fun. So I’m working Sunday morning, off Monday, working Monday night into Tuesday and off until my normal schedule on Wednesday. Of course payroll is due on Monday and just because I’m going in Sunday doesn’t mean that everything will be keyed in for payroll to be correct. Since no one likes to use the time clock at work, I’ll have to go in on Monday for an hour (at the most) to key in whatever punch corrections are in my box. I don’t HAVE to, but I’m going to have to deal with a lot of guilt and a lot of angry co-workers if I don’t. And even though it will be their fault since I have had signs up about this for the past several days, I would rather not have to deal with listening to them complaining. So I’ll go in for an hour or so and get my job done and prevent any bitching.

and to interupt this blog post again and since I have nothing truly spectacular to blog about, I’ve found some yarn I want. I just need someone to come up with an idea of what to knit with it. 370 yards of light worsted hand-dyed wool yarn at it’s most beautifulness. And since it’s on clearance, it’s a steal. What project should this be, because it’s screaming at me to buy it NOW!

I had to take my compass exam today. Passed the english & writing portion with flying color, didn’t do so well on the Math portion. Ultimately, it means I’ll be taking an extra math course, but no big deal. Next up is getting my high school transcripts and finishing up the financial aid.

sweet deal.

Oh yeah, and a new picture to share. Because who doesn’t like pictures of my kid.

oi.

When I found a friend was pregnant, I knew right away I was going to knit her something. She and her husband had been trying to get pregnant for several years and they are both beyond ecstatic that they are now expecting their first. When she found out she was having a boy, I was determined to knit her something that was cute and boyish and hopefully sporty but on the edge of trendy.

I found these booties and I made the colors just a little different. I wanted them to look more like socks. Cute boyish, sporty socks. And they turned out PERFECT.

and they go perfect with the stocking cap I knit too.

just admit it, you are swooning over the booties and hat ;)
