On August 25th, Skyler turned 4. And it still feels surreal to me.
I miss the days of him curling up on my chest, his shallow breaths the only thing I wanted to hear. I miss the joy of him learning to sit up, learning to crawl and the most exciting of all, the first steps. I miss the baby days.
I’m enjoying the “kid” days, but it’s all becoming a blur. Next thing I know, he’s going to be a teenager in high school. And I will wonder, where the hell did the time go?
and as much as I love the “missing baby teeth”, it makes him look that much older. That’s when the tears really start flowing.
Here is to another fabulous year kid.

I’m not purposely trying to kill my blog. I’ve been busy and every time I start to blog, I get side tracked. It’s frustrating really.
Tuesday was Skyler’s birthday and we both really enjoyed the day we spent together. The morning at the doctors (40lbs and 41″ tall!!), shopping and then out to lunch. The rest of the day was filled with playing with toys and lounging around watching his new Backyardigans and Wonderpets movies.
I love days like that.
I have have knit my first pair of socks! Unfortunately they were knit with Malabrigo yarn so they pick up every single bit of dirt or litter on the floor, slide off his feet so easily and they don’t hold their shape well at all. But they look great and that’s what is important.
I can’t wait to knit his next pair of socks :)
Happy Easter to everyone! After a tantrum filled Friday, a long and crazy Saturday, I knew I had to have a lazy Sunday. And that is exactly as we have done.
Skyler woke up around 7:45 but read books in bed until 8:30. I was grateful for that because I didn’t fall asleep until almost 2:45am, so I managed about 5 hours of sleep. We went downstairs and he saw his basket of goodies. “Presents for me!”, he kept exclaiming. The spiderman was his favorite, of course, but he was excited with everything. It doesn’t even occur to him that I’m denying him of candy ;)
The rest of the day has been lazy, playing, watching movies and I’ve spent time knitting. We got some time outside in the warm weather. Now he’s watching Bolt and playing with his spiderman while I plan on getting some more knitting done. Great day overall. Too bad tomorrow is back to work :/
Christmas has come and gone and I’m happy to report that I have survived the holidays. I can’t wait to be able to just relax now.
I got some wonderful yarn, knitting book, new yarn rolling case and some fabulous needles. Perfectly complements my new fun hobby :)
Skyler got tons of presents. Backyardigan beanies (Thanks to the cutest curly hair Miss Santa I have ever met. And her wonderful Mommy ;), wonderpets action figures, Diego play toys, child digital camera, cassette player with a Backyardigans music CD and cassette, several books, clothes, 2 Mr. Potatohead toys. (One original, One spiderman and extra pirate accessories) and a fun Vtech Vsmile game system with not only the Diego Cartridge, but the Backyardigans cartridge too.
I think we had a great Christmas.
This was Skyler’s first year getting to celebrate Halloween. His first year to go trick or treating and really enjoy candy. His first year of choosing what to dress up as. I think he really enjoyed it. Because of technical difficulties, I wasn’t able to get pictures Halloween night but I did capture a couple pictures the day after. When he was still insisting on wearing his Batman shirt of his costume. I can’t believe how fast he’s growing up.

Most of the way finished with Skyler’s birthday cake. I wanted to do a car theme. I had fun doing this :)
Will update more tomorrow. Off to bed now!
